Aden National Nature Reserve has a complete and primitive Alpine natural ecosystem and rich vegetation types and biological species.
There are 1126 species of vascular plants belonging to 431 genera and 120 families in the reserve. Among them, 9 species of key protected plants are Pteris yulongensis, all plants of Isoetes, Cordyceps, songxiu, jintiesuo, taoerqi, Xiangcheng Nanxing, Fanxian, anisodamine, etc.
There are 291 species of vertebrates in the reserve. There are 12 species of national class I protected animals, including antelope, white lipped deer, forest musk deer, musk deer, snow leopard, leopard, Sichuan pheasant quail, spotted hazel chicken, Golden Eagle, jade belt sea eagle, Hu vulture and black necked Crane. There are 42 species of national II protected animals.
